Christ’s Greenfield launched a worship service in 1982 in downtown Gilbert at Falconer Funeral Home. We were a portable church without a campus. That soon changed with the purchase of land on Greenfield Road. Over the last 37 years, Jesus has blessed our 11-acre campus to the point that 1,100 people worship on Sunday mornings and 400 children are enrolled in our thriving PreSchool through 8th grade Christian school. We can agree on the blessing of the campus being packed with people and yet we are running out of room to fit them. So, we must start new locations to reach new people.
Why are we launching a new site?
As a church, we feel God leadings us to launch a new campus because:
- So many people need Jesus. If not us, then who?
- Leaders need to be sent. It’s the way of Jesus.
- There are space issues at our current campus. We need more room for people to worship.
Ok, bonus round, here is a fourth reason:The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod needs stories of multiplication.
Where will we go?
We are going to start in East Mesa! Over the next ten years East Mesa is projected to grow from 275,000 residents to over 400,000. Take a drive and look around at the houses being built from Gilbert to Mesa to Queen Creek to San Tan Valley. Over 50 families who attend CGLC on Sundays also live in the East Mesa geographical area and many more of you are moving there each month. We are therefore looking forward to the launch of our East Mesa location at Silver Valley Elementary School off Ellsworth and Ray roads.
When will it begin?
Our preview services will be in early 2020 with the target audience of inviting our church community out to experience this new location. These services will also help our servant leaders try out their new ministry stations before we have our official grand opening to the community.
How can you help?
Each Sunday, we have the chance to create a hospitable, high-quality environment so that others will be ready to experience Jesus in worship. The set up, tear down, children’s ministry, parking, greeting, coffee, and worship teams are just a few of the teams we are recruiting right now in order to offer the highest level of quality service to all who come to both of our locations. If you are already sure you would like to make this new location your new Sunday worship location, we would like to invite you to also take part in serving on a Sunday.
Stay tuned for more information!
