Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

I love January! I love the new beginnings, the determination to stick with resolutions, the desire to make the new year the best yet! New beginnings are a gift from God, to remind us that He makes all things new, and His plan has a powerful purpose for your life. May you trust His plans for you and follow faithfully after Him in 2019!

One of the best new beginnings that I am so excited for is our 10:45 a.m. children’s ministry experience starting this Sunday, January 6. We are calling it “Karis Kids”, to distinguish that’s it's different from Agape Kids Sunday School at 9:00 a.m. Karis is the Greek word for grace! Karis Kids is specifically designed for little ones, preschool age through 3rd grade. Children still get to experience worship with the Body of Christ (remember, adults modeling worship is the most powerful way to help develop lifelong lasting faith in our children), and they will receive their own age-appropriate Biblical learning, through a 20-30 minute time just during the sermon.

There will be a children’s message given by one of our amazing teachers, leaders, and staff that will also serve as an easy transition for children from worship to Karis Kids, where if kids choose to join us, they’ll have teachers waiting for them in the preschool hallway to the left of the stage. Parents will need to check in their kids prior to worship (at an iPad in the courtyard!), and check out will be in their classroom in the preschool hallway.

Deaconess Intern Rachell Highley and I, along with our whole team are really excited to see God at work during this new Sunday morning addition for our children. We know this will help parents to also learn and grow in their own faith journey.

Children are always welcome in every single worship service and we strive to be a family-friendly church. In both the Life Center and Worship Center, there are children’s canvas bags filled with coloring pages, crayons, picture books and quiet toys. Please feel free to take one and return it after worship, should you choose to keep your children in worship with you.

One other addition that our team is super pumped about, is Club 456 in the Youth Room at 9:00 a.m. service, during Agape Kids! This special combined class for 4-6th grade students will allow them to have a more engaging time, opening up deeper Biblical and topical studies, fun games, and building relationships with their peers. Our team leaders of Allie Glock, Mike Layser, Kristen Haiduk and Eric Landwehr are on fire to point these young tweens to Jesus at Club 456 each week!

Please bear with us as we launch these new areas and as we make any necessary adjustments. It is going to be a wonderful time for all our little ones at CGLCS! Jesus is faithful and with His guidance and your support and excitement, we are ready and excited for what 2019’s got in store.

May your 2019 be filled with joy, grace, adventure and learning about all of God’s goodness. God’s blessings on your New Year!

In Christ, DCE Annie Tiberg and Deaconess Intern/Children’s Ministry Director Rachell Highley
