Interesting in getting married in our beautiful sanctuary? Following are some guidelines to help make your dream wedding a reality...

SCHEDULING WEDDINGS
Couples should strive to make arrangements with the parish office at least three (3) months in advance of the anticipated date. A $100.00 ($50.00 if off-site ceremony) non-refundable event deposit is required to secure the services and dates. Normally, weddings are not scheduled for the Lenten season, or any time during Holy Week or the week of Christmas. Seasonal liturgical accessories (altar furnishings, banners, etc.) will remain in place, and are not to be altered, removed, or replaced for the ceremony. The availability of parish facilities is dependent upon pre-existing parish scheduling. Verify parish and pastoral availability through the office before making detailed commitments for additional venues or services.

PRE-MARITAL PREPARATIONS
Couples will make an appointment with the presiding pastor at their earliest convenience. Pastoral staff alternate months for performing weddings throughout the year. General information about the service will be shared at that time, and a schedule of consultations with the pastor will then be arranged.

Consultations:

Phase I: Prepare/Prepare MC
Couples will take a relationship inventory followed by a series of evaluations
FEE: (payable to Life Innovations, Inc.): $35.00

Phase II: Foundations of Faith
Couples of mixed faiths or uncertain convictions will attend our prelude to membership/marriage Bible study/seminar (approximately 4 weeks), which is offered several times a year. Check with the Church office for the next regularly scheduled class series.
FEE: None

Phase III: Service Coordination
Couples will want to dedicate at least two (2) sessions to design and discuss their wedding service. Fees, parish policies, acceptable music and floral decorations, and detailed service planning will be discussed at this time.

Couples will need to make arrangements to apply for their marriage license at an Office of the Maricopa County Clerk of Court. Licenses are valid for one year from application date. More information about marriage licenses is available elsewhere in this information packet.

PLANNING FOR A GODLY CELEBRATION
A Christian wedding is unique among ceremonies in our society. It is primarily a worship service elevating Christ as Lord and Savior. Great care should be taken by the couple to insure that the service reflects a sincere commitment to Christ and a clear witness of faith to all in attendance. Our pastors reserve the right to review and recommend service elements, and refuse those elements that are in conflict with our parish’s doctrine and practices. In rare situations, it may be necessary for the pastors to refuse to be a party to or to perform a service based on moral, ethical or doctrinal grounds. Therefore, it is critical that each couple be open about their expectations, receptive to suggestions, and clear about their Christian convictions.
